You + the Other

Words from Drs. Arent Weevers
Media Artist, theologian an curatorĀ
“The plexiglass box with four portals forms a world within a world. The shapes and textures of the figures reveal a surprising homogeneity, as if one emerges from the other or refers to each other. But appearances deceive. What seems heavy and solid proves light and fragile when held in your hands. The sense of touch thus breaks through the distance of the eye.
This new world of forms mirrors your existence: your demons, your relationships. At the same time, it offers a state of mind in which calm and silence fill the inner space. With a careful gesture – a move – you enter an almost sacred, meditative place. Here, the visible and invisible worlds meet.
Where the real world is dictated by language – to manifest yourself or to confront the confusion that language itself creates – a different sound resonates here: the non-verbal language of attention. An intense dialogue arises between you and the figures, a language without words, a language that transcends language.
In this world, a path unfolds that leads nowhere but to the Other. Every step you take is a response to what or who presents itself. This space holds the promise that each step can change the existing world. Your existence matters.”
